I'm still here.
Once again, I managed to pull off my blog disappearing act around the holidays. I even pinky-sweared myself that I wouldn't. I tried and tried not to, but that holiday to-do list just kept getting longer and longer. Well the holidays are gone, the Christmas tree and decorations are finally down and now it is time to kick off the New Year!
To be honest, I have been a little down on myself lately about not having the time to do everything I want with this blog. In fact, I even started to wonder if it is time for me to move on from InspireMe Crafts into the next chapter of my life (I still don't know what that chapter is…ha!).
Just as I think that I have decided it is time to close down the site, I get a kind email from a follower and then I am in limbo again. Then it dawned on me… I really enjoy doing this (I know, I know….not really the greatest epiphany of all time). I might not be able to make the site what I want NOW to please my perfectionist self, but eventually I will have time when I don't have an 18 month old clinging to me and a 5 year old always wanting to play football. So instead of sitting here beating myself up about it and not doing anything, I am changing the rules.
It is a new year and a perfect time to change the expectations for myself and this site. Previously, I tried to only post craft tutorials, party ideas, or craft projects for the family and home that I completed myself. That meant a lot of projects (and$$$) and then more time posting them. Well, I still enjoy being a DIY so I will continue to do projects and post about them. However, with the new rules that will not be the only time you will hear from me. I look to blogs and sites for inspiration all the time so just as the title states, InspireMe Crafts, I will also highlight projects that I get inspiration from and all those creative folks out there. But that is not all J. I am a fairly private person, but also nosy as hell. So as hard as it is, I am going to also use this as a chance to let you get to know me a little bit better. The good, the embarrassing (trust me, there is always plenty of these stories), and the bad.
We'll see how the new rules work out and I hope the change is enjoyable for you as well. If it doesn't work out….we'll just change the rules again!
